The cherries are then spread into thin layers and dried slowly for around four weeks, allowing sweetness and complexity to develop while preserving clarity in the cup. It’s an innovative take on natural processing that showcases just how exciting modern Kenyan coffee can be. This results in a sweet, juicy coffee with peach, mango and passionfruit tasting notes, akin to a Solero.

The Ruera estate covers approximately 190 hectares on the red volcanic soils that have helped make Kiambu County one of Kenya's best-known coffee-growing regions. Seasonal rainfall and supplementary irrigation support coffee production throughout the year, while the estate remains surrounded by a landscape that has been associated with coffee cultivation for generations. The estate provides employment to more than 1,000 people across cultivation, harvesting and processing activities. Its scale makes it an important local employer and a longstanding part of the rural economy.

Process: Natural

Roast Level: Medium

Tasting Notes: Peach, Passionfruit, Mango

Origins: Kenya

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0435/7482/1016/files/1715AB07-ACF0-49F1-86B1-565DB97BAA01.jpg?v=1791370913
