Brazilian 'El Fumo' | Single Origin
Description: We welcome to the club a cheeky little Brazilian number we have named 'El Fumo', taken from the literal translation of 'The Smoke' from it's Brazilian roots. This lovely little bean is delicate in the roaster and needs a slow, low temperature roast to get the best out of it. What comes out the other side is a flavour-filled smoky, nutty coffee that works well for both filter and espresso roast to suit all your coffee cravings.
One of the most well known regions in Brazilian coffee production is the Cerrado Mineiro, the country’s youngest designated coffee-growing area, complete with it’s own Protected Denomination of Origin. Spanning approximately 1.2 million square miles—about 23% of Brazil’s landmass—the Cerrado is a tropical savannah located in central Brazil.
While Brazil lacks the high altitudes typically associated with premium Arabica coffee (most farms are situated at or below 1,000 meters above sea level), it compensates with distinctive flavor profiles. Brazilian coffees are often low in acidity but rich in chocolate, nutty, and praline notes, making them a favourite for those who enjoy smooth, comforting brews that align with classic coffee expectations.
